Nifty takes out 100 points for the second day in a row

Across the board buying was seen in all the out the money and at the money put option strikes as the index closed lower.




In today’s trade, markets gave away its opening gains with ease as all the major heavyweights took heavy beating, while closing around its days low levels.

Nifty Index slipped below its 50 DMA with all the sectoral indices closing in red. Nifty and Bank Nifty Index added fresh open to the tune of ~14.2/2.2 lakh shares as the indices closed ~1%/0.5% lowers, indicating a formation of short positions. Tracking the options front, Nifty 10300CE added huge short positions with open positions surging by ~17.5 lakh shares, while across the board buying was seen in all the out the money and at the money put option strikes as the index closed lower.

India VIX ended the day at 14.8 up 9.2%.
